This is 20 days of homework which has been written to address the newly revised 8th grade TEKS. The homework has been designed to ensure that the students are consistently exposed to 60% readiness standard practice and 40% supporting standard practice. Most problems require multiple steps and have both readiness and supporting standards embedded.
There is a general agreement that students should be assigned no more than 10 minutes of homework per day, per grade level. That means a first grader should not be assigned more than 10 minutes of homework per night. Yet for the average first grader in US public schools, they come home with 20 minutes of homework and then are asked to complete.
Finland, a national leader in international tests, limits high school homework to half hour per night. Of course, there are other factors not taken into account in the study, such as length of the school day. But in itself, it is interesting to see this issue from a world perspective. Instead of assigning homework, suggest they read for fun.
Our goal is to read 12 Accelerated Reader books and pass those quizzes to get at least 70 points by the end of the year. Many students have yet to take a quiz. Please check if your child has a library book today and ensure that they are reading it every day for at least 20 minutes a day (scientific research).

Okay so we do 8 hours of school with 7 classes we leave at 3;45 but the bus ride is like 30 min and we have to wait to load the busses so i don't get home till like 4;30 then I have to think back to what I learned that day the I have to do 5 hours of home work and projects which we have like every other week on top of 6 more classes I have to do homework for So yes.
